A while back, Visionary Finance has a chance to hear Richie Etwaru present at Ted Talks. We thought Richie did an excellent job breaking down Blockchain and explaining the technology behind it. He continued to do so in his book "Blockchain: Trust Companies" which you can find on amazon. With the crypto space in the early stages, many people have a difficult time comprehending what it's all about. There are still people today claiming that Bitcoin and Blockchain are the same thing. This is not even close, and Richie does a great job explaining Blockchain and how it can potentially change financial infrastructure in the future. When it comes to current financial infrastructure, there is a big question of "Trust" with entities like Banks. Mr. Etwaru explains how Blockchain can have a streamlined approach to bring Trust back in the financial industry. He explains how this is built in the Blockchain framework. The Blockchain offers unchangeable ledgers that can go a long way in business. The ledgers we utilize to this day have negative effects because they can easily be altered. In Mr. Etwarus Ted Talk he had a great example of buying houses. When someone buys a home, there is many factors they have to look at before making a life changing investment. All of the facets of a home (previous maintenance, values, problems) etc are all factors that can be altered on traditional ledger systems. Mr. Etwaru argues with a Blockchain technology approach, all of these ledger inputs would be unchangeable once implemented. This creates a streamlined approach that builds trust to consumers. It also creates competition because if companies step up and utilize Blockchain Tech, it can only increase their value to consumers forcing other competitors to make the movement to Blockchain. It can definitely help people understand how Blockchain works and how it's substantially different than just "Bitcoin". You can begin imagining all the opportunities there may be in the future.
